Yes, you have read the tittle of this post correctly, 1st annual. Almost every single person who I met this past weekend echoed that sentiment...this should happen every year. John and I joked about it, imagine 20 years from know...The 20th Annual 60th Birthday Party for John Landes. I'd be there every year, no doubt.
This party was so much more than a party...it was a weekend. Most of the people who were there traveled to get there and stayed for a few days, myself included. I have to applaud John and Lindsay for being the most generous hosts and as far as I could see everyone had an unbelievable time. I know I did.
On with the show...
...the path from the parking lot to an area behind the dunes.

...People starting to arrive...

Music, food, sun, what more is there? Here are some pics.

Great mussels, classic flavor, simple and delicious.

BBQ Chicken, Lobster (w butter not in pic), Corn on the Cobb, Ice cold Beer...now that's hard to top!
Dessert time! The cookies in the picture below are best single chocolate chip cookie I have ever eaten. I know that is a very bold statement, and I agree it is as well. That is why I stress that I am 100 percent acknowledging this is the best cookie I have ever eaten, period. They have rumored to have beaten Bobby Flay in a "Throw Down".

Watermelon!!!
This was awesome, John rockin out to all is family and friends. How cool is that?

As people slowly left a few others remained for a chill sunset by the fire.

Amazing sunset, goodbye Saturday...
...welcome Sunday, time for Brunch. Martha Stewart eat your heart out!
Plate 1, of about 4.

Some of the best Lox I've ever had.

What a spread!

Ok, so the picture below is actually what it looks like, bacon cheesecake. I'll give you a minute to swallow that little bit of vomit that just came up into your mouth. Any, better? I hope so.
So try to understand that this was by no means my idea. I happen to walk into the kitchen to see Johns friend Steve eating bit for bite, cheesecake and bacon. I was dumbfounded. I asked something along the lines of "umm...dude, you know that...umm, ya soooo, what are ya doin there?" I basically appeared very confused.
Steve was quick to say something along the lines of, are you gonna just blog about this or give it a try. That's all it took. Not only did I try it, but I went back for seconds! Honestly it was pretty good. It's not gonna make me run for bacon the next time I eate chessecake but it is pretty tasty.
Go ahead and try it, you might like it. Bacon Cheesecake, who knew?
Till next time Sag Harbor.
Peace out.
